Ciren'na
(see-ren-nuh)
The Meddling One
Though songs may be sung of grand conquerors and warriors throughout the ages, true power is found with those who hold influence, those with ambition beyond what their own hands can forge.
Once the daughter of a humble apothecary in the far north, Ciren'na has risen to greater heights: a drow-toned Arsa Sidhe who tapped into raw magicks thought untolerable, she has firmly planted herself in the chambers of power of the Valkian Realm. Travelling from court to court, whispering in the ears of those seeking power, she relishes in meddling in the affairs of others, especially to her own benefit. While not seeing herself as good nor evil, the pursuit of one's own desires is the highest calling.
Values
Nothing is more important than making something of yourself. Ciren'na cares not if you seek to be the greatest doctor, a bard of the ages, or, despite her leanings, a warrior. What is most important is an ambition, a desire to be something more than you are. What is a life if spent always sitting down, following another?
To this end, magic is a means to this end: magic is a powerful thing, and should be used by those with ambition to achieve heights above what people would normally say isn't possible. If we only limit ourselves to what we think we can do, the world will become a dull, stagnant place.
Views on Other Patrons
While unlikely to admit it aloud, Ciren'na finds the other patrons to be a serious annoyance. Perhaps because she is one of the youngest patrons (a true 'upstart'), she finds herself jealous of precious few other than those who can rival her in power — or perhaps even surpass.
Being a Mage under Ciren'na
Of all the patrons, Ciren'na is one who will give a mage only so much as they put into it; she isn't interested in hovering over the shoulder of the pacted — she has better things to do, after all — but doesn't give out favours for free. Known to have eclectic requests on occasion such as obtaining a wagonload of flowers or a very particularly-shaped rock, she is not particularly demanding, but certainly takes a personal interest in those who wish to be more involved.
