The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

—"ive come to set home, i come from Eryndor, a town in Mist Isles, i used to help my mother fish and build ships so we could make coins from the traders that come by and survive off that, before i do so i have to go meet my father up in some red mountains in ko'ram, uul'san i believe? i dont remember, mother would always tell stories about him and how much of a good warrior he was, im not sure if hes still fighting though, i hope i dont disappoint my father by telling him im not going to be an Odokhi Warrior like him, he would always send us letters and drawings of a fortress, it sounded like he really liked it but then he would also tell us of the enemies he defeated which was kinda scary.."
i stretch my legs and arms out yawning, i cross my legs and scratch my head
"im not really a violent type, living with my mother was pretty peaceful but i guess i got bored just building ships all day, ive always wanted to BE the trader ya know? traveling to different places and seeing the beauty of this world, some of the Mistans did that back in Eryndor but my mother wasnt the traveling type. Ive heard from the other Mistans about The Spire and how its a popular place with many different cultures and shops, thats what got me interested, i plan on setting up house there and build a shop with things i bring back from my travels at sea, hearing how many people go there for trading and living it could do me well in coins, then i can retire my mother."
