Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”

Response:
Y’ashynn cleans off the knife she was tending to during the trip, returning it to a small sheath under her robe before replying to the kind woman in an uncertain tone.
“I suppose meaning...” Her gaze drifted for a bit at some animals scampering off almost out of view, a thought now wandering her mind.
“My father always warned me of what a dull unfulfilling life can do to the soul.” She gently tapped the scabbard reminiscing on her solemn life before. “I never understood what he meant by that, but he said I’d learn if I ventured out into the world.”
She looked at the path behind the cart with a soft smile, thinking back to the mountains. “I’m sure he is right, though I’ll miss the games of summer... not that I could keep up in any of the throwing games.” She grinned, gesturing a decent size with her arms. “Some of them were throwing rocks this big, I couldn’t even pick up a rock that big. Even the racing, climbing, and hunting wasn't easy, though my Greatling half let me at least keep up with most of those."
Her eyes moved to the mountains far in the distance, lost in thought. “One day I’ll summit the mountain, make father proud, and hopefully earn inheritance of the family blade. Or perhaps make a new one with him...” Her eyes moved across the night sky thinking of the times her mother took her stargazing.
As she watched a comet cross the sky her worry eased. It was a good omen, at least that is what her mother always said. Her eyes still couldn't help but look south towards her destination and the Serpent's Eye, only hoping a southbound journey wouldn't be dour.

Character Race: Arsa Sidhe/Greatling mix
Character Age: 16
Brief Physical Description: Standing at a little over 7 feet, Y'ashynn has messy long black hair along with two dark red horns coming from her forehead. Her skin is a pale purple, adorned with freckling under her eyes and across her nose. The thin skin reveals her darker blood beneath it, giving her an oddly dark blush.
