Falliren Rytelus
Age: 21
Race: Elf, Arsa Sidhe
Culture: Valkian
Appearance: Of a typically Elven physique, Falliren is lithe and athletic. Bedecked in a wide assortment of gems and jewelry that gilds a colorful set of clothes, Falliren is ever the fashionista. His pale skin--assailed easily by the Sun--is stretched over an angular yet lively visage. He keeps his silvery hair cut to a medium length, groomed to whatever style is in vogue at the time. His wide eyes are a deep green, much like the jade on his many rings and necklaces.
Falliren grew up in a noble family; a minor house serving as middling administrators to the Valkian Realm. Living in the sprawling capital of Mariza, he was surrounded by the quagmire of politics. He grew to resent the insincerity of politicking and the demands of a highborn career, especially the rigidity of it all. Rather than exploiting the wealth of career opportunities afforded to him, Falliren blew off his classes and set out to conquer every bar, ballroom and tavern in the city. What annoyed his family the most was how he squandered his own talents. A promising student but only if he cared, giving his attention solely to subjects that interested him, like swordsmanship or literature. Eventually and inevitably, there was a falling out with the rest of the Rytelus clan. Perhaps he was taking one too many art courses? Or was it his hobby for cat-burglary and pickpocketing against the houses? He left for the Reach--for the fun of a new adventure, yes--but also to fulfill a deeper duty, one he seldom shares with others.
Likes:
Socializing, attending lively events, meeting and making new friends.
Adventuring! Or other exciting things. He's a thrill-junkie especially if the stakes are high and there's danger to it. Unfortunately one of his favorite thrills was cat-burglary. Not against commoners but other noblemen who he found irritating, many of whom he met during those dreaded dinner receptions.
An outdoorsman! Or so he likes to think. He could never spend weeks on end out in the wilderness, it'd get far too dirty for his liking. But escaping to the woods and hermiting for a few days was a favorite way to evade the Rytelus clan.
The humanities: writing, reading, poetry, literature, history. Can't forget music and art. Was fashion mentioned already?
And gambling... too bad it's not a skill of his, God knows he could use a few wins (his pockets surely do).
Dislikes:
Boring people, especially if they're so self-serious. He holds a disdain for many authority figures but doesn't despite authority and order in of itself. But he's not the classic rebel who'll clash with leadership for the sake of it. Falliren maintains decorum.
He loathes mathematics and is quite bad at it too, although pretends as if this weren't the case.
Insincerity in any form besides humor. He left the damn capital to get away from snakes.
Filth! He'll forgive a pauper for being ragged, but for everyone else he expects a level of cleanliness. He himself is a clean-freak who takes forever in the shower, stressing and panicking over being clean.
Values, Ethics & Morality:
He doesn't talk much of lofty ideals but maintains a moral code, although at times it can warp for convenience. Falliren can be considered true-neutral however his noble upbringing has instilled a lawful-neutrality in certain areas. He deeply values honesty. Not in the sense that one should always say the truth even if it is blunt or rude, but never pretend to be one's friend or make empty promises. By extension, friendship/fellowship/camaraderie is held in high regard; one must always have their companion's back. He is very open-minded to people and new experiences, appreciating others who share the same outlook. Having been surrounded by conceited aristocrats who constantly judged, Falliren vowed never to be so judgemental although he finds this oath under constant strain. Of course, being a knight, oaths are to be kept! He dreads people who flake out. But his desire for thrills can eclipse his moral compass. Even though he knows it's wrong and will try his best to stay true, it can get the better of him. Despite his earnest commitment to sincerity, Falliren guards himself from any type of emotional vulnerability beyond a surface level connection, burying it under layers of raillery and lightheartedness. Even to his closest friends, it's difficult to get a real answer. Falliren has a bad habit with levity and being facetious; he just doesn't know when to stop.
Skills & Trivia:
Experience as a sneak thief.
Learnt how to do a few sleight-of-hand magic tricks.
Falliren does not like his middle name, he won't even list it on the character profile! Only his cousin knows what is and it's the one thing that gets to him.
Inventory:
A walking display case, he sports a ridiculous array of jewelry.
A sword, a throwing knife, and light armor.
A silver medallion.
Fine clothes.

Are you at least 18 years old?: Yep.
Have you read the rules? (Link): Of course.
(Optional) Were you referred by someone?: St.Moth
(Optional) Introduce yourself if you’d like, as well as any creations you want to share: I've been into MC-RP for a while and discovered Avalore before it was launched. I meant to whitelist earlier but I was a lil lazy and busy (a deadly combination). At least I signed up to the forums before the launch date so I got a cool trophy. Anyways, I'm a creative person that dabbles in fiction writing and music, I've also filmed some goofy movies. Here's to another fifteen years of MC-RP!

In-Character
Read the following prompt:
The rhythmic lull of hoofbeats are a marching drum to the small group of pioneers and variety of folk you have found yourself amongst, packed into a wobbling wagon. The rolling plains of the Southern Reach and a clear sky stretch out all around you, the buzz of excited chatter a dull wash in your ears as your mind strays to your former life and what has led you here to new lands.
“Nervous?”
You blink, returning to the present moment. A kindly older woman sat near you is smiling warmly with a crinkle to her eyes.
“I can tell it’s your first time. Still remember mine,” she flashes a grin and leans in.
“Tell me my dear, why have you come to the Reach?”
How do you respond (in character)? (150 words minimum - please make sure to include some references to our lore in your response!)
It wasn’t until then that Falliren realized he was fidgeting with a silver medallion hanging from his neck. For days, he had rolled the pendant with his fingers and studied its texture with a gentle thumb, all the while marveling at the openness of this new frontier. The elf stowed the medallion into his billowing shirt and returned a smile to the old woman.
“To find the Lady of the Lake,” Falliren joked, “I vowed to take my studies seriously but my adventurous disposition had other plans. I hope to clear things up and explain the dullness of mathematics; I’m really not the one at fault. Maybe then she’ll show some leniency to an oathbreaker.”
She guffawed, a laugh that defied her frail and aging body. “Oh, so you must be a Valk.”
“How could you tell?” he asked in friendly curiosity.
“Your kind is always on about honor, chivalry, and oaths,” she said, “Lady of the Lake, a student, and your pendant. Valk merchants like to have a lucky coin, fidgeting with it anytime they’re nervous.”
Falliren chuckled. “No, no, it’s not a lucky coin and I’m no merchant. Did you not hear how poor I am with maths? It’s just something I like to wear. Nothing mystical about it unfortunately.”
“Your clothes,” she pointed, “All that jewelry and color. Dead giveaway.”
Falliren let out a short laugh. “I suppose I made it quite obvious. But if you want to know why I’m really here, it’s rather simple. Fun! I ran out of it in the Valkian Realm. Family is such a tiring affair, especially when in service of the King-Emperor. And after I had conquered all the ballrooms and taverns in the capital, the city became such a bore. But now there’s a new frontier, an untapped well of possibilities, an open expanse that can fit all our ambitions. A place where anyone can make a name for themselves and grow.”
“Again, you just gave it away,” she said cheekily, “I’ve met enough Valkians to know how to read between the lines.
Falliren arched a brow. “Pardon?”
“I’m sure you’re here for the fun, but you gave away the true reason at the end. May the Sun shine on you and your endeavors, Arsa Sidhe.”
